Load shedding 'four-five times' in 24 hours

He said that apart from suffering from heat due to lack of electricity, there is water shortage at home.

Recently, many people like this family in Dhaka city have no more load-shedding due to power outages for four or five hours a day and night.

Students are talking about the disruption in studies and shopkeepers are reporting the shortage of customers.

However, a month after the planned start of load shedding in July, the Ministry of Power and Energy assured that there would be no more suffering from the end of September.

Friday Schedule

It is mentioned that there is shod shedding for 5 to 6 hours on Friday in Jurain area under DPDC. Besides Dhanmondi, Moghbazar, Azimpur, Khilgaon, Kajla, Matuail, Demra 4 to 5 hours; 3 to 4 hours of load shedding is predicted in Sherbangla Nagar, Bansree and Bangshal.

However, in the northern and eastern regions of Dhaka city under power distribution company DESCO, shod shedding is noted to be slightly less on Friday. Two to three hours of shod shedding per day has been announced in most areas.

Suffering days and nights

Earlier load shedding was 2-3 times in Daniya area of ​​Jatrabari in Dhaka but now it is 4-5 times.

Ahmed Kausar, a resident here, told bdnews24.com, “We have to stay without electricity for one to one-and-a-half hours every time. There was no electricity before Friday prayers. It was prayer time. By lunch time the power went out again.”

Noting that load shedding has become unbearable since the disaster on the national grid on Tuesday, he said that when power is needed more, it is not being met.

Highlighting the suffering of water due to increased load shedding, some residents of Kamrangirchar said that electricity is going off in this area four times a day. When the electricity goes out, it often does not come before two hours.

Hasan Ahmed, a private employee, said, “There is no electricity in the middle of the night. It is not possible to read with candles in such heat. And water can’t be interpreted as suffering.”

Sajjad Hossain Chowdhury, a resident of Mugda area, said that although the load shedding is supposed to happen according to the schedule, the electricity is going beyond that.

Roksana Swarna, a housewife from Shanir Akhra area of ​​the capital, has a similar comment. In his words, “load shedding is happening in our area for four hours a day. When the power goes out, it is difficult to heat food for a small child in the oven, although there is a stove but there is often no gas. If there is no electricity at night, mosquitoes multiply. There is also the problem of water.”
