Robite Rajeev Shetty as CEO

Mobile phone operator Robi took on the new CEO more than a year after the resignation of Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, joining Rajeev Shetty, who took over the same role at Grameen Phones eight years ago.

Rajeev Shetty, most recently CEO of Myanmar’s top operator Ureedoo, previously served as Chief Commercial Officer of Airtel Africa.

Announcing his appointment as Robi’s CEO, Aziata Group Berhad Joint Acting Group CEOs Hans Vijayasuriya and Vivek Sood said in a statement, “Aziata Group Management welcomes Rajeev to the Robi family.”

Rajeev Shetty is taking over from M Riaz Rashid in Rabi. Chief Financial Officer Rashid has been handling the duties of acting CEO since Mahtab Uddin Ahmed Robir stepped down as CEO in August 2021. Ravi said in a press release that from now on he will carry out his old duties.
