1) He was nominated by President Bill Clinton

Peter McElhinney is the current Attorney General of Texas. He was nominated by President Bill Clinton and sworn in on December 14, 1993. His office oversees law enforcement, and gaming, as well as providing legal assistance to Texans with low incomes. He is a Rhodes Scholar, and a former law professor at Southern Methodist University and Houston College of Law.

2) He is married to Linda Estrada

The attorney general of texas is Greg Abbott. He is married to Linda Estrada, and they have three children. Abbott’s parents divorced when he was a young boy, and then his father left him in Austin as a teenager after beating his mother. He became an assistant district attorney for Harris County in Houston for two years, before taking on criminal defense cases at trial for much of his legal career.

On June 26th, 2010 they welcomed their second daughter into the world.
